How To Connect Devices?
This topic explains how to connect smart devices to a Wi-Fi network using standard setup procedures, and includes important compatibility tips and a reference to troubleshooting resources.
Before beginning, ensure the following:
- The Wi-Fi SSID (network name) and password are available.
- Your mobile device has the necessary manufacturer app installed.
- The device is powered on and in pairing mode.
STEPS
- Open the device manufacturer's app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Navigate to the “Add Device” or “Connect” option.
- Select your device model from the list.
- When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi SSID and password.
- Confirm the connection and wait for the device to link to the network.
- Check the app for a success confirmation or status update.
- Optionally, rename the device and assign it to a room or category for easier management.
Note:
Many smart devices only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi bands. If your router is set to 5GHz only or using band steering, connection attempts may fail. Check your router settings and connect to a 2.4GHz network if needed.
